Victoria’s Secret parent L Brands records 4% increase in April sales

US-based fashion retailer L Brands has unveiled its April sales report.

During the reporting month, the fashion retailer noted a 4 per cent increase in its net sales to US $ 751.6 million as compared to net sales of US $ 719.6 million in the same period last fiscal.

L Brands’ comparable sales during the reporting period remained flat as compared to the same period in fiscal 2017. The same was impacted negatively due to the earlier Easter holiday, the company said in the press release issued.

Further, the lingerie retailer reported an increase of 8 per cent in its net sales to US $ 2.626 billion in the first quarter of the year as compared to net sales of US $ 2.437 billion in the corresponding period last year.

Comparable sales for the first quarter noted a 3 per cent increase as compared to 13 weeks period last year.

L Brands, which currently runs 3,069 speciality stores in the US, Canada, the UK and the Greater China, expects to report first quarter earnings per share (EPS) at the lower end of its previous guidance of US $ 0.15 to US $ 0.20.

Markedly, the retailer’s brands such as Victoria’s Secret, PINK, Bath & Body Works, La Senza and Henri Bendel are sold in more than 800 additional franchised locations worldwide.
