Shanghaitex 2017 promotes ‘smart’ textile solutions

The four-day ShanghaiTex 2017 that concluded on 30 November focused on providing updated smart solutions for textile industry.

The fair organised a number of seminars and design contests other than the exhibits to promote the concept of smart solutions. Notes Luk, a visiting lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, discussed at length about comfort, design and support of sports bra.

One of the major highlights of the 18th ShanghaiTex was the ‘C2M Smart Factory Experience Zone’. The experience zone was thronged with several visitors who experienced rapid 3D technology for body scanning. The technology enables measuring body sizes in just a few seconds for making a perfect-fit shirt.

Several experts from many countries discussed the relevance of the latest smart solutions for the textile manufacturing industry.

The event witnessed participation from around 1,200 exhibitors across 26 nations who showcased innovative textile machinery of world-class standards in addition to displaying the latest technologies. The exhibition also provided the exhibitors with a good platform to explore several business opportunities.
