New Jersey (US)-based Ascena Retail Group has been honoured by the Women’s Forum of New York for having a ‘greater gender balance’ in its Boardroom.
David Jaffe, Chairman and CEO of the company received the award at the 4th biennial Breakfast of Corporate Champions event held on November 14, 2017.
Women’s Forum of New York is a premier organisation of women leaders.
Janice Reals Ellig, CEO, The Ellig Group and Chair of the event, congratulated Ascena for having more of women workers.
Ascena termed a ‘corporate game changer’ which is doing its best to increase women members in the Boardroom. The current percentage of women members in its Boardroom stands at 50 per cent.
“Diversity in our Boardroom makes us stronger. It leads to more innovation and ideas,” said David Jaffe.
Ascena is a leading national speciality retailer that offers apparels, shoes and accessories for women through brands like Ann Taylor, LOFT, Lou & Gre, maurices, dressbarn, Lane Bryant and Catherines.
“We are aimed to serve and inspire women in a better way,” he added.
CEOs and Board Directors along with business leaders and various Government officials attended the event.
